No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.

Sunday Morning Worship

Worship is central to our life together at Acton Congregational Church. The format of our Sunday worship is a familiar and traditional one, consisting of: hymns and anthems; liturgy, prayers, and offering; scripture and sermon. Holy Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month. Through worship we offer our praise before God and seek to discover meaningful ways to live out our faith, applying its life giving power to contemporary needs, problems, and opportunities, both in our lives and in the world around us.

Occasionally the morning service includes other practices and rituals—for example, reception of new members, healing prayers, baptisms and blessings for people leaving the community. After worship, there's almost always an informal gathering in Hartman Hall or our Bond Courtyard, a time to meet, chat, and share refreshments.

Families with children are welcome in our worship services.  We have a Children's Library if parents wish to let their children stretch and be themselves (audio of the service is available there). Our Sanctuary and other facilities are accessible for those who are mobility impaired. On Sunday mornings, large print service bulletins and assistive listening devices are always available.

Sunday morning services are held at 9:15 and 11:15 AM in the Sanctuary. Sunday School and childcare are offered during the 9:15 AM service which is a larger service with children's messages and choirs. The second service at 11:15 is a quieter service with soloists and instrumentalists. Childcare is available at the 11:15 AM service.

During the summer months (from mid-June through the Sunday after Labor Day), there is one service at 9:15 AM. Sunday School and the choir is on hiatus, but childcare is available.
