Too Much of a Good Thing
To quote Mae West, “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.”
I had so many emails and enthusiastic comments about how much everyone enjoyed the beautiful playing of the Bala Brass Quintet in worship on November 5, that I thought I would remind you that they will be playing again on December 3. I am working with Seelan Manickam, our Palm Sunday trumpeter, to come up with just the right Advent music for the prelude, anthem, and postlude. Seelan will, of course, play with me for the hymns, something which we both enjoy.
This Boston area chamber group has played and received awards all over the world. In 2009, the group had a two-week residency at the Banff Center in Alberta, Canada. In 2010, it was Artist in Residence at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. In 2022, the Bala Brass did a mini residency at Keene State College.
The prelude to the service, which the group will also play, begins at 9:20 AM. Our excellent choir will also sing.
I suggest that you invite your friends and neighbors to come to the worship service on December 3. They will hear fine and inspiring music from our choir and elegant and worshipful music from the Bala Brass Quintet.
