This Sunday, Rev. Emily Castner will be our guest preacher.
We will welcome Rev. Emily Castner to worship with us on Sunday, November 24th. She joined us earlier this year in April and we are happy to have her join us again at the pulpit.
Ordained by the UCC in 2007 to a half-time position as the Protestant chaplain in a 500-bed nursing home in Rochester, NY, Emily retired and moved to Worcester, MA in 2018.
Her husband of 50 years had passed away and she wanted to be closer to her children. In Worcester, she joined the United Congregational Church and provided worship services in rest homes until Covid hit. Currently, she is a deacon and is chairing United’s Creation Justice Task Force as well as being a supply preacher.
This Sunday, we have even more treats as our own Rachael Gerhard joins us as soloist and cantor as the Senior Choir takes a well-deserved break. Rachael will be singing the Call to Worship and the Scripture, Prayer and Benediction responses. She will also honor us with a beautiful solo entitled "O Jesus, King Most Wonderful”, composed by Christopher Tye.
We also have the delightful ACC Bell Choir joining us on November 24th. They will play a beautiful rendition of “We Gather Together”, arranged by Lloyd Larson. Our ACC Bell Choir joins us for worship usually once a month. It is made up of a group of multi-generational devoted musicians who bring joy and skill to their performances.
