The service on Dec. 29 will be lots of fun! There will be no prelude, no offertory music, and no postlude. Liz Carley, our organist, will give a lecture-concert on the subject “Your Favorite Carols and the Stories Behind Them.” We will sing together.

We will have Katherine Evans joining us for this special service. Katherine, who grew up in this church, has played regularly here, much to everyone's delight. She was principal trumpet of the Concord, Hingham, and Brockton Symphony Orchestras and held Music Director positions at churches in Sherborn, MA, and Rochester, NY. She and her husband now live in Vancouver, BC, where she is a freelance musician and principal trumpet of the Vancouver Opera and Newport Symphony (OR).

Which carol is about someone who was murdered? Which carol was composed because of “technical difficulties?” Which carol has pagan images? Which beloved Christmas carol is not a Christmas carol at all, but an Advent carol? Find out on the 29th.

We look forward to seeing you there!
