Mission Trips and Service Projects

Senior High Missionaries in the Adirondack Mountains, NY - June 2016

Mission trips for both junior high and senior high youth began at Acton Congregational Church in 1997. These trips have grown in popularity and impact, giving the youth of our church and community an opportunity to get hands-on experience serving as Jesus would and to whom He would seek out. We serve through two youth mission agencies, Center for Student Missions, and YouthWorks!. These trips give the youth both urban and rural mission experiences.

More than 18 years later, our youth program continues to place a strong emphasis on serving others as Christ served us. Each year, our junior high, senior high, and college youth go on mission trips to serve with Christ-like love.

Our recent Junior High mission trips were to Brooklyn, NY in 2012 and to Boston in more recent years.  Senior High missionaries served in Lynn, Massachusetts in 2013, Rutland, Vermont in 2014, Washington, DC in 2015 and the Adirondack's in 2016. ACC's college-aged young people serve as missionaries at Habitat for Humanity sites, helping to build homes in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2012 and Salem County, New Jersey in 2013 and Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 2014.

Senior High - Washington D.C.

Our congregation supports our youth missionaries through our missions gifts and by supporting youth fund-raising efforts, and the youth share their experiences as missionaries so that these trips touch both youth and adults in profound and life-changing ways.
