E-Giving

About Electronic Giving

Some members of our congregation find Electronic Giving to be a convenient way to provide financial support to the church. We currently use a firm recommended by the United Church of Christ, Vanco Services, to provide this feature to those who choose to use it. Use of electronic giving is optional, but there are advantages for both you and the church:

Benefits of Electronic Giving for You:

  • Easier to fulfill stewardship commitments
  • Strengthens participation and support in the church
  • Allows you to contribute even when you're away
  • Easier personal budgeting

Benefits of Electronic Giving for the Church:

  • Promotes consistent giving
  • More predictable cash flow for better planning
  • Potentially more efficient processing for office staff
  • Secure and easy cash maintenance

We have offered electronic giving for several years, and for some, it is a definite advantage. There are relatively minor costs to the church associated with online giving, but you will receive charitable credit for the full amount of your donation. Vanco Services charges our church a transaction fee for both checking/savings and credit card donations. An additional 2.75 to 3.5% processing fee is charged for every credit card transaction, so that a funds transfer directly from your bank account is the least expensive way to donate to the church electronically, and you may want to consider covering transaction costs by increasing your donation to cover them.
